Hello there and welcome to another blog! Or if this is your first time reading, thank you for stopping by! This session with Holly was magical. Everything came together with this location and it may make my top favorites list.
Upon arriving Holly and I talked about what outfits would best suit the style of the photos. She came prepared with a couple different options. We wanted a rocker/determined/hardcore vibe for one and a graceful/beautiful look for the other. After deciding on the outfit, I went through my plan for the session.
Being nervous is a very common emotion for my clients to experience. For nervous and anxious clients, I like to slow things down, show my clients how they look in the camera, and make sure I take care of all the posing. Holly was a secret natural! I would let her know what I was thinking and she would seamlessly fall into the pose.
Holly let me know what she felt she didn’t like about the photos I was showing her. This is totally okay and I welcome it. I can’t say it enough. I want you to LOVE your photos. I can’t know about your insecurities unless you point them out to me. I will keep this in mind for the rest of the shoot and throughout my editing process. We are our own worst critics, and it's hard to see a reflection of ourselves and NOT look for what we see as flaws. But, as someone who has photographed a lot of different people, I can not only relate on a personal level but a professional one - and I am here to help you through it!
That aside, Holly’s smile captured the camera. Even in the more “serious” photos, we got a hint of a smile because Holly’s bubbly personality is just overflowing with love. Holly leaves an impression on people that lasts, and her smile is part of that. Even when I made Holly sprint up stairs, She dawned a full smile the entire way up.
Thank you guys again for reading. I will see you in the next post!
